Mabel Patterson (Bradley)

Mabel Patterson (Bradley), 87, of Rogersville, TN, passed away on December 30, 2023, in Morristown, TN. She was born in Rogersville on October 9, 1936. Mabel will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

She worked as a LPN for several years. She was retired from BASF in Lowland and was a member of Abundant Life Church.      She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Patterson Jr; parents Andrew and Sara Bradley; brothers Andrew Bradley Sr, Arthur Bradley, William Bradley.  Survivors include her son Norman (Jerrie) Patterson3rd; granddaughter, Kelly Greene; great granddaughter, Malayah Thomas; brothers, Andrew Bradley Jr, Rodney (Thelma) Bradley, Mickey (Lina) Bradley                            

A ceremony to celebrate Mabel's life will be held at Abundant Life Church. The family will receive friends on January 11, 2024 from 11 to 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. officiated by Reverend James Goins. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to gather at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens in Rogersville, TN. for graveside services.


London Katherine Goins “Nanny”

‘Nanny’ Goins was bornon April 17, 1941 to the union of Amanda and William Buis and was raised by her aunt and uncle Florida and Charles Treece.
She departed this life on January 2, 2024 at Serenity House. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Preston Eugene Goins and her husband of 60 years, Leroy G. Goins, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Debra ‘Cookie’ Wilder, Leroy G. Goins. Jr. (Steven Wells) and Teresa ‘Tesa’ Ewing – all of Morristown; sister-in-law, Pauline ‘Polly (Lacy) tate; stepmother, Helen Buis; four sisters, one brother, several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great- grandchildren; special grandson, Ivan Acosta; special friends, Ruth Isom and Yvonne Simpson; and a host of cousins.

The family would like to thank Serenity House, Amedisys and Michelle Toler.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service to follow at 2 p.m., at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home, 117 East Third South St. Elder Ventrus Norfolk will serve as Officiant.

Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

Eva Marketta Dockery

Eva Marketta Dockery, age 66. Sunrise July 21, 1957- Sunset January 1, 2024. Eva Marketta was born in Newport to the union of the late Burn Harris and Gladys Louise Carr Dockery. She attended Tanner School, Newport Grammar and was a graduate of Cocke County High School, Class of 1975. She briefly attended Morristown College. Her career of working with children and adults as a caregiver spanned many years. She accepted Christ and was a member of Newport First Church of God where she served on the Trustee Board and loved to sing for her church. Eva Marketta enjoyed traveling, cooking and singing. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their activities. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Eva Marketta is preceded in death by her parents Burn and Gladys Carr Dockery, brother Burn Dockery Jr. and sister, Tewanna Dockery. She is survived by her son, Casey T. Dockery (Laura); grandson Dorian Dockery (Rocki Balance) and granddaughter Sydney Dockery, special bonus grandchildren Jessi (Chad) Morris, Katy (Thomas) Harris and Logan Blazer. Also, her bonus great-grandchildren Emma and Ryan Morris, Xavier, Brandon and Katalina Harris. She is survived by her brothers Aaron U. Dockery, Ricky A. Dockery and Paul H. Dockery (Stacey) and sisters Rementna L. Dockery and Shedenna A. Dockery. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, special life-long friends Addie Thomas, Barbara Allen and Daira Finchum. 


A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Newport First Church of God, 331 Woodson Road, Newport.  The family will receive friends between 1 and 2 pm with the Service to follow.  Pastor Tonya Shelton officiating.
