Kenneth Earl Smith (Snake)

Kenneth Earl Smith
(Snake) was born on
December 22, 1942, in
Filbert, West Virginia. He
was the ninth child of
William B. and Sallie Smith.
In 1960 he graduated from
Gary District High School.
After graduation, Kenneth
enlisted in the U.S. Army
and was stationed in the
United States and Germany.
He received an honorable
discharge from military
service following ten years
of service. Shortly
thereafter, he was employed
by Chrysler in Detroit,
Michigan, for well over
twenty years before
retirement.
In 2011, Kenneth left
Detroit, Michigan and
moved to Morristown,
Tennessee.
In addition to his father
and mother, Kenneth was
preceded in death by his
brothers, William B. Jr.,
Albert, Frank, David, Don,
Jerry; sisters: Evelyn Joanne
and Lillie and a beloved
nephew, Dwight.
Kenneth departed this life
on October 26, 2023. He will
be greatly missed by his wife
Darlene, son Kenneth Jr.
(Stacie) of Jacksonville,
Alabama, grandchildren –
Tequilla, Tiera, Tamia and
Lulu Jackson of Piedmont,
Alabama. Also left to mourn
him are his siblings – sisters:
Audrey Irene (Bernard), C.
Lucille (Frederick), Bonnie,
Hazel, Gail – brothers:
Milton (Dolly) and Eddie; a
host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life
service will be held at 12
p.m. Monday, November 6,
2023 at east Tennessee State
Veterans Cemetery Chapel,
2200 East Governor John
Sevier Highway in
Knoxville.
