Charlie R. Kyle 65, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his immediate family.
Charlie was preceded in death by his infant brother Todd Kyle; grandparents, Ike and Flora Kyle, mother Josie Kyle, his sister Dorothy Parkey Fortson and his parents A.R. and Gladys Parkey.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers Tony, Lamont and Richard Kyle, Rickey Parkey, devoted sisters, Flora Parkey (Rodney) Houston and Susie (Michael) Washington. He also leaves to cherish his memory to his niece and nephews (Jon, Grant, D’Shaun and Inika) whom he treated like his own children (but spoiled them) and a very special cousin William “Squirrell” Griffin who was faithful to the end.
Charlie graduated from Morristown East and attended Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. Charlie was proud to serve our country in the Army and he shared very fond memories of his duties as a MP “Military Police” and received an honorable discharge. Charlie worked at Lear Siegler before joining the Oak Ridge Y-12 as a security police officer. He later served in the trucking business for many years and had a love of meeting different people and seeing new places on the open road, he never met a stranger.
Charlie loved playing cards, basketball and playing pool. He lived his life to the fullest and had a loving and generous heart. Charlie would help anybody in this world. He often drove people to their doctor appointments, hospital, pharmacy, grocery store and would also drive them out of town if they needed him. He was just there for anybody that called upon him for anything or if he thought he could help you, he would just show up.
Service will be Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:00. Family receiving friends from 1-2 at Dockery Senter Funeral Home.
