Tammy R. Porter, age 56, of Morristown, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems.
Tammy was born on August 11, 2015 to Anna Ruth Deadrick and the late Bobby Joe Carmichael. She was a graduate of Morristown East High School, and she later attended Morristown College. She was previously employed with TVA and American Enka.
She is preceded in death by her father; her brother: Robert Carmichael; and her grandmother, Essie Carmichael.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 18 years, Joseph “Jobie” Porter; her children: Cigi Carmichael and Kelia (Harold) Chandler; her stepchildren: Sean (Raleka) Porter, Stacy Porter and Jodie (Bobby) Ladd; six grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; her mother: Anna Ruth Deadrick; her brother: Scottie (Kay) Carmichael; her sister: Marilyn (Gene) Johnson; her sisters-in-law: Ruth Isom, Jeanie Porter and Carolyn (Ernest) Bewley; devoted niece: Dena Matey; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Dockery Funeral Home, with the funeral service following at 5 p.m., with Rev. Joseph T. Senter officiating. Interment will be Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville.
