Ronnie Lewis Rucker Simpson

Ronnie Lewis Rucker Simpson, 62, of Morristown passed away January 31, 2018. He was born July 1, 1955 in Sneedville to Lucille Simpson Davis and J.W. Rucker. Lewis graduated from Morristown East High School where he was well known for his athleticism. He was quick on the turf and the wrestling mat. He was employed at Koch Foods. Lewis was an avid lover of animals, he was a horse trainer an equestrian, and many considered him to be a dog whisperer. Lewis met his lovely wife Yvonne L. Simpson of 26 years in Newport; they moved to Morristown established a Home and gave birth to their daughter Ciaria Simpson. Lewis was a devoted husband, he worked hard to ensure his house was a home and. His lovely wife returned the favor by ensuring that her “King” was fed on a daily basis prior to heading out for work. Lewis lived a very fulfilling life, he was a loving son,   father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was truly a man that loved his family, children, grandchildren, co-workers neighbors and all his friends. His infectious smile,  joyful personality, dance moves, cooking skills and love for all near and far will be forever missed; especially throughout  the city of Morristown, where he was well known and respected. Lewis met no stranger and welcomed any and everyone into his man cave. He was the life of the party and would cut a rug on anyone’s dance floor. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lucille Simpson and J.W. Rucker, Jr. brothers; Richard Moore, Jr. and John Steven Davis; and sister Barber Jean Davis; mother-in-law Mary E. Thomas; father-in-law Charles LaVonne Thomas. He is survived by his children Casey Lewis Simpson, Ronota Thomas, Chakara Simpson, Rafael Simpson and Ciaria (Jordan) Simpson; Siblings Lonnie Taylor Simpson, Brenda Kay Kyle, Mark Anthony Davis and Donnie Jackson; uncles William (Ella) Rucker, Oscar Simpson; aunts Elizabeth McKinney, Martha Reed and Mary Esther Hatcher; brother-in-law Walter. (Marcia) Thomas; sister-in-law Ardena (Alonzo) Arnold, Mary L (Dion) Dykes and Melvin Lene Thomas: grandchildren Alexis Bailey, Robert Nate Bailey, Nevaeh Manis, Sariyah Hayden, Dante Collins, Damain Manis, Khadija Jatta, Kasey Simpson, Keezli Simpson, Rafael Simpson , Jr.; Goddaughters Sonja Jackson, Danielle  Scarborough, Jescina Ramsey and Tierra Goins; special friends Callie Ingram and Kathy Cox; neighbor Cat Goins; special cousin Ed Fanney. He leaves to mourn a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws,friends, relatives, co-workers and special friends. He will truly be miss by all that new him. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with services to start at 2 p.m. at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Russellville Cemetery’s
