Lillian "Peg" Greene age 89 of Morristown, TN was born in St. Charles, VA on Monday, May 31, 1926 and passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown, TN.
She had lived most
of her life in Lee County, VA. Lillian was a homemaker, had served the Lord for
67 years with joy and attended the Church of God of Prophecy. She loved her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved making homemade gifts that she
embroidered for them. She made up her own games that she played with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peg loved listening to gospel music and
doing kind deeds for children. Anyone that she met loved her. She was preceded
in death by her husband Henry Clay Greene, grandchild Angel Michelle Grubbs and
a brother Jack Parsons. Peg is survived by two sons Eddie Greene and wife,
Sheralin of Cranks, KY and Billy Greene and wife Sheila of Kingsport, TN, four
daughters Peggy Burke and husband, James of Pennington Gap, VA, Betty Grubbs of
Wallins, KY, Sherry Hoskins and husband, Phil of Marietta,GA and Mary Phillips
and husband, Kenneth of Morristown, TN and a step-son Charles Henry Greene and
wife, Marylou of Melbourne, FL. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and three sisters Helen Monty
of Madison, OH, Virginia Scott of Rose Hill, VA and Nita Houghton of Ashtabula,
OH.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Tim Cradic and Rev. Roland (Bo) Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm Tuesday until the time of the service.
