Julia Ann Blevins Fanney, born on January 28, 1940 to the late Gale Blevins and the late Amanda Parkey Blevins of Whitesburg, Tennessee. She departed this life on July 1, 2019 at her residence on West Outer Drive in Morristown. Julia grew up in the Whitesburg area and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church on Cherokee Drive in Morritown. She was an avid gardener and could be found working in her plants. She was a retired beautician. Julia was the Queen mother of the Red Hatters and enjoyed outings with her friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Arthur W. “Boggie” Fanney; sons, Marvin Fanney and Anthony W. Fanney; brothers, Robert Blevins and Charles A. Blevins and sisters, Beatrice Sims and Willie G. Davis. She is survived by her loving sons, Andre(Sharon)Fanney, Artie(Shandra)Fanney both of Morristown, TN, step-daughter Patricia(Wain)Young of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren, Alex Fanney, Candace (Milford) Jarnigan, Shante Fanney, Anthony W. Fanney, Bria D. Fanney, Latasha Griffin, Nashona Griffin, six great grandchildren, brothers, Henry (Liz) Freeman of California, Scoval (Jeannine) Blevins, Johnny(Belinda)Blevins, Darrell Blevins all of Morristown, TN, sisters, Lena Hampton, Louise(Lee)Quarles, Mary Cooper, Lorine Stone all of Morristown, TN. The family would like to acknowledge her very special friends, Gerald and Bertha Miley, as well as her best friend, Ann Cox, each of whom Julia loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 5 at Bethel Baptist Church on Cherokee Drive in Morristown. Funeral services to follow with the Rev. Clifton D. Jackson officiating. Following the service, burial will be at Bent Creek Cemetery in Whitesburg.
