Burn Harris “Big Dony” Dockery, Jr., was born on April 23, 1960 in Newport, TN and departed his earthly life on September 30, 2015. He was a graduate of Cocke County High School and was a veteran in the United States Army. He followed the Dockery family tradition and was a skilled brick mason. He was a member of Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Burn Harris, Sr. and Gladys Carr Dockery; his grandparents: Paul O.P. and Alta Cuberson Dockery, William Henry and Bervelee Thomas Carr; two special uncles: Paul “Rabbit” Dockery and Charles “Bubba” Carr; and his friend and father-in-law: Ray Carl Yates.
He is survived by the “Bonnie” to his “Clyde”, Gina Yates; daughters: Jessica R. Dockery of Orange County, FL and Lyndsie N. Dockery (Adrian Delgado) of Sevierville; son: William Jared (Vanessa) Dockery of Parrottsville; his grandchildren that he spoiled and doted on: Jamarion, Carlissa and TaJuan; three brothers: Aaron and Ricky Dockery of Newport and Paul Dockery of Knoxville; four sisters: E. Marketta Tewanna and Shedenna Dockery of Newport and Rementna Dockery of Knoxville; his aunts: Mary Myers of Pittsburgh, PA, Theresa and Patricia Dockery of Newport, Charlotte Woods , Alzora Rader and Shirley Davis of Knoxville; his uncles: Clay, Joseph, Dwayne and Arthur Dockery of Newport, Carl Dockery of Dandridge and Bobby Dockery of Detroit, MI; special nephew: Casey Dockery of Jefferson City; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends: Big Jim Denton, David Weems, Sherman Ownby, Craig Stewart, Tuffy Ledford, Nate Ivy, Jarrod Reece Swaggerty, Elijah Ramsey and Dewayne Bragg.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Dockery Funeral Home, 117 E Third South St., Morristown. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. John Brown officiating.
